Donuts with Mr. Tyler
The Forest Hills Children's Ministry and Deacons' Family Ministry Team invite children K-5th grade to Donuts with Mr. Tyler on Sunday, November 23rd from 9:30-10:00 AM. This event will be held in the Adventure Room of the Children's Hallway across from the Dining Hall. Please join us for a time of fun so that you can get to know Mr.Tyler. Children, do you have a question you would like to ask Mr. Tyler? Fee free to submit any questions ahead of time to Elizabeth Murray at email@example.com.
Operation Christmas Child
Forest Hills is participating in Operation Christmas Child again this year. Last year we filled 300 shoeboxes with small gifts for needy children around the world. This year our goal is 350 boxes. Please pick up boxes and brochures from one of our displays in the Gathering Place, the Dining Hall, the Preschool Hall, or outside the Sanctuary. Please return filled boxes to Conference Room 2 by Sunday, November 23rd. This is a wonderful tradition for our church, and we hope you will join us this year in sharing Christ's love with children who have so little that a shoebox means a lot. For more information, contact Charlotte Holmes or Cheryl Hibbs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Boy Scout Wreath Sale
Starting on November 2nd until November 23rd
Forest Hills' own Boy Scout Troop 207 is once again selling wreaths and evergreen roping this year. Please consider buying your greenery from the Troop to support the Scouts. Wreath prices range from $10 to $40 and the pine or fir roping is $10 or $13 for 25 feet. The deadline for ordering is Sunday, November 23rd. The greenery will be delivered the first weekend in December. Please see Alex Hibbs on Wednesday night to order, or pick up a form in the Gathering Place. Contact Cheryl Hibbs for more information at email@example.com.
Stop Hunger Now: December 3
Join us for a Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. There will be a hotdog supper at 5 p.m., and packaging will being at 6 p.m. Once again we will be coordinating our efforts with our neighbors at Fred Olds Elementary School to package 20,000 meals! Each meal costs $0.25. Save your spare change during the week and drop it in the money jug in the Gathering Place on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. Checks should be made out to FHBC with "Stop Hunger Now" in the memo line. Contact Buck Goode (919-949-9550) if you have any questions.
Calling All Bakers!
If you enjoy baking, we have a mission opportunity to bake cakes for the Raleigh Women's Correctional Center Christmas party.

Time To Spruce Up?
Does your adult Sunday school classroom need a fresh coat of paint? FHBC will supply the paint if your class can provide the labor, either by volunteers or a painter hired and paid for by your class.
The Property Management Committee has approved a color palette of greens, golds, blues, plums, or tan for walls and tan or white for trim. These colors are the same or very close to those used in the Gathering Place. Some of the colors are for accents only. To view the color palette and talk about buying paint, contact Ben Kaplan, our new Facilities Director, 919-828-6161, x106; email@example.com.
We work hard to keep FHBC Kitchen and Dining hall as clean as possible. In doing so, we need your help! If you or a group you are affiliated with, use the kitchen for any reason, we would appreciate if you would schedule a Kitchen Orientation with Chef Gabriella.
This is a one time 30 minute orientation that shows you everything in the kitchen, how to work all equipment, where everything belongs, and goes over safety/sanitation procedures. Please schedule an orientation before using the kitchen for any reason!
Contact Chef Gabriella to schedule an orientation at firstname.lastname@example.org or (919) 522-3133 (cell) (919) 828-6161 ext: 115 (office).
Creating Warmth For Children
Thank you to everyone that participated in the Creating Warmth for Children project. 38 blankets have been completed and donated for children in our community. Raleigh Rescue Mission is giving one to each of the 11 children attending their childcare center. Three have been added to the inventory of our own Children's Essential ministry. Twenty four of the fleece blankets were donated to SafeChild. SafeChild works with abused children and they are approaching the 1000th child they have helped. They give a "lovey" to each child when they first meet them. Forest Hills is serving and connecting with our community as Jesus commanded us.
Message From Wendy
Please join me in welcoming Kate Weaver as the new Communications Coordinator.
Kate will be starting on Monday, November 17. Feel free to call or stop by to welcome Kate. Feel free to stop by and thank Jennifer for all of her hard work during the last few weeks. She will be missed!
Please continue to use the forms on the website. These forms will be directed to the appropriate people. Please be patient with us during this transition time.
Ukraine Fund Update
Fund raising to help heat the Ark in Kiev, Ukraine, was a great success. Thanks to the generosity and mission support of Forest Hills members, we raised $9,864 to help keep the children warm this winter. Thank you!
Audio/Visual Volunteers Needed
AV Volunteers help Sunday services and events at Forest Hills run smoothly. Volunteers do not need experience with AV equipment, but it is a plus! We'll make sure you're trained in everything you need to know.
Duties: Sunday worship service duties: set up and run audio equipment; operate presentation software, video switcher, and video camera for display of worship slides, sermon videos, and other media needs.
Sundays, 1-2 hr./week; Twice a month

Request for Naming Suggestions
The Worship Implementation Team is excited about the progress of the new contemporary worship space and the improvements to the dining hall. Since this space will now serve multiple uses, we would like to rename it. Do you have suggestions? Please submit them to Elizabeth Murray: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please limit suggestions to 16 characters.

Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 7:00-8:15 p.m. in the music suite. All are welcome, and no audition is needed!
Updated Office Hours
Until further notice, the Church Office will be closed on Fridays due to staffing transitions. Any events already on the calendar will continue as scheduled.

Taiwan Aborigine Choir
Do you remember the kids from Taiwan who stayed in our church and blessed our community with songs earlier this year? Well, Pastor Jane Pan visited the Aborigine Mountain Home earlier this month, and met with the children and teachers. They are all doing well.
How encouraging and hopeful it is to know these children are loving God and singing praises to Him on the other side of the world, and even more, that our friendships will last forever in God's Kingdom!
If you would like to make forever friendships with internationals, and/or serve on our NEW Transportation Team, please contact Jason!
