Formation of Worship Strategy Team
In October, the Leadership Team announced that FHBC would offer a single worship service beginning Oct. 13. During this time, a re-visioning process for the Contemporary Service would be undertaken with a target date of February 1st as a date by which to return with a plan or to restart the Contemporary Service. Dr. Westbrook has met with several church lay leaders over the last month and it has become evident that there is a need for a complete evaluation of all worship at FHBC.
Therefore, a Worship Strategy Team (WST) has been formed to evaluate and develop a comprehensive worship strategy for FHBC. The WST is currently meeting and has been charged with presenting its recommendations to the Seek Council and Diaconate by March 15, 2014. The WST will provide regular updates on their progress and work with the staff to setup several opportunities for education about worship, congregational input and discussion. In the interim, FHBC will offer a contemporary service in place of the traditional service at 11:00 am one Sunday each month.
Worship Strategy Team Members:
Julie Boyles, Stephen Edwards, Elizabeth Murray, Frances Overby, Henry Su, Donnie Wiltshire, Neil Westbrook, Senior Pastor, Joy Phillips, Seek Council Chair. Please keep these team members and their work in your prayers as they seek God's guidance for worship at FHBC.

The proceeds from Evening With Friends will help defray some of the costs of the trip. You can participate and support your FHBC Youth by making plans to attend this year's event by donating items for the silent auction. Tickets for the event cost $17.50 and will be on sale on Sundays and Wednesdays starting in early February.
Donations for the silent auction will be collected in the coming weeks. Donations can include custom crafts, vacation homes, dinners, personal services (babysitting, yard work, handyman work etc.), art work, photography, tickets to sporting events or gift certificates. Please contact Paul Smith, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Derek Graham, email@example.com, if you have any questions regarding auction items.

What a week of rejoicing after a worshipful service of baptisms!
A Chinese family of three who are involved in the ESL classes, the Chinese Church, and were ministered to by a "stranger" at Niagara Falls, all accepted Christ as their Savior and were baptized. God be glorified!
Three kids from Africa whose family escaped persecution, resettled as refugees in Raleigh, and were ministered to by a Sunday School class and many others, accepted Christ and were baptized. Heaven rejoices!
Last weekend, 12 people from the county participated in Basic ESL Training at FHBC - 9 received certification. They are now equipped to teach English as a Second Language, reaching internationals in their midst. God accomplishes His purpose through His vessels - our job = listen, yield, and follow. This is Kingdom work!
Please pray for:
- Discipleship journey of these new believers
- ESL teachers as they prepare and share with internationals this week
- Activities that present opportunities to share Christ's love (Super Bowl Party this weekend and Valentine's coming soon).
