Nowruz Persian New Year, Friday March 27th
During celebration of Nowruz, Persian New Year 1394, the Farsi Fellowship and the International Ministry hosted a dinner and celebration for the Iranian community and others.
People came! One hundred and fifty seven people came to the Forest Hills Fellowship Hall and celebrated culture and life, while also hearing the Word of the Lord read both in Farsi and English!
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:13-14 This is an example of both being present with internationals and practicing God's love by sharing hospitality with the community. It is our prayer that hearts were touched that night, and relationships established and continued will be used by God to lead people to Jesus. Amen!

This fund will be established and maintained in the same manner as the church's other named endowment funds, housed for convenience and invested at the North Carolina Baptist Foundation. It will be subject to the same guidelines as other endowment funds, which generally involve no more than 5% annual distributions for their specific purposes. The initial funding for the Ake Fund will be memorial contributions made to the church in George's memory. Please consider a generous contribution to this fund in the memory of one of our church's most respected leaders. Contributions may be sent to Wendy Garrett with specification to the Ake Fund.
