Report From China

Forest Hills, thank you for praying for our team that was in China from May to June. Along with our team, Nannette Godwin joined us for part of our journey. I was able to give three sermons and twenty Marriage and Family Enrichment workshops as we traveled to eight cities. The churches we visited were mostly churches under the auspices of the Chinese Christian Council of the Chinese Government. This was an unusual and special thing as American pastors are rarely invited to preach and give workshops in government-controlled churches.
One particular story I'll share with you from our journey is about a young man named RongJi that we met in Dongying. After an abusive childhood, he had quit college and decided to run away from everything he had worked for.  After facing addiction, depression, and suicide, a Christian lady in Dongying met him. Adopted by her church family, we met him after a workshop and he needed help. He was nearly non-communicable. After praying for him, he was released from his muteness and was able to acknowledge his sins and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Over the course of the next several days, God was able to work through this situation and ultimately, the young man came to forgive his biological parents and they too accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts. Praise God for His marvelous work!
Thank you again brothers and sisters in Christ. God is working both in China as well as in America. God loves His people and salvation is available to all who calls upon His name!

Pastor, Chinese Baptist Church

Our organized activities will last 30 or 40 minutes, but you're welcome to hang out in the Gathering Place or the church playground as long as you like. Feel free to bring a friend and make it a play date! For more information, email andrew@foresthills.org.

Youth Ministry

Faith And Film

This summer our teenagers will be watching films and discussing how they might intersect with our faith. Movies are so impactful, and they catch our attention while speaking into our lives. This summer we aim to take a movie, ask good questions about what we might learn from it, and how it might speak to us as people of faith.   Dates are June 28th, July 12th, August 2nd, and August 16th from 5pm-8pm.

International Ministry

Pray For Congo Mission Trip

Pastor Ngoma and Brother Armel from the United African Baptist Church are serving in Congo Brazzaville and Congo Kinshasa from Saturday July 11 through Sunday, July 26.
Forest Hills, let's join them in prayer!
They will be serving the Lord through visiting and strengthening churches in both countries and by delivering:
Offering Plates
Choir Robes
Reading Glasses - all of immense value and otherwise unattainable in Congo
Local language Bibles to give away in country
Please pray especially for the Church in Congo, the safety of these men, and for efficiency in travel and light traffic as they travel the only road that enters the city.  Traffic on this single road can turn an already lengthy bumpy trip into an arduous day-long journey.
May God bless and use every experience they encounter for Glory to God and His Kingdom!

Immediate Opportunity To Bless Others

Would you like to encounter the world on our doorstep?  Do you have a heart for missions and are looking for a way to serve?
Well, the International Ministry has an urgent, immediate need for a Sunday morning ESL/Bible Class Teacher.  The teacher is needed for a new Beginners English as a Second Language / Bible Class.  You can do it!
Please pray about serving and helping to meet the needs of students who are ready and waiting.  Not sure if you have been trained?  Well then make sure to see the following opportunity for training coming up with the Raleigh Baptist Association in July.
Please seriously pray about helping us meet this need and helping someone communicate in English for the first time!  You will be blessed, that is promised!

General Announcements

Musical Keyboard Evangelism

Musical Keyboard Evangelism (MKE) at Forest Hills will begin Wednesday, September 2nd! MKE is a form of evangelism where free piano lessons are offered to people in our community. MKE students will learn to play and will present a recital following the session of classes, while also being introduced to the Gospel.
Help is needed to make this mission successful. First and most importantly, prayer is needed. If all you can do is pray, we'd love to have you praying for this ministry!
Also, since many of our students will be underage, we're in need of additional volunteers to sit in the room with teachers during practice sessions in compliance with church safety policies. If enough people can volunteer for this need, we'd only need volunteers to sit in once or twice a month.
Classes are open to all ages 8 and up (including adults). Please pray about how you can help with this important ministry that will be used to spread the Gospel to our friends in the community. We can only accomplish this with your help! To volunteer to be a prayer warrior for this ministry or to find out more about volunteering by sitting in on lessons, please contact Nannette Godwin at nannette.godwin@gmail.com.
