Following worship, there will be a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall - all are invited to attend. The church will provide BBQ and beverages. All are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert for the meal. Food can be dropped off in the kitchen prior to Sunday School.

Needed - Willingness To Help!
Advanced Level English Class - Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:45pm
Beginner ESL Bible Class - Sundays 9:15am-10:45am
Thank you for your prayers! Over the last two weeks during Wednesday Night English and American Culture classes, the International Ministry welcomed 46 new students from Brazil, China, Congo, Honduras, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea - 8 countries, as well as two new teachers (Cecelia Barker and Brad Hibbs)! We are off to a wonderful start, praise the Lord! More are coming as "word of mouth," God's love, and the prodding of the Holy Spirit draws them to Forest Hills. Business English class starts soon, and another advanced class is desperately required to meet the need. Follow the leading and encouragement of God - just come along - we have teaching material you can use. Contact Jason Payne for more information.
Children's Leadership Team Volunteers Needed
Our ministry would not be possible without our Children's Leadership Team. We're currently looking for two team members--someone to take special responsibility for Sunday School, and someone to take the lead on events. Would you like to explore the possibility of leading the children's ministry? Do you know someone who might be a good fit? Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more. Whether you would like to serve or not, please be in prayer for this team as they give so much of their time and energy to our children!
Wednesday Night Suppers Volunteers Needed
Looking for an opportunity to serve others, meet new people and in the process share God's love? Did you know that it takes over 35 hours of volunteer time each week to help prepare, serve and clean-up in support of the Wednesday Night meals? The meal, fellowship time and prayer/bible study have always been an important part of the ministries of FHBC. To support this we are looking for some regular volunteers (once a month) to help Greet, Serve and/or Clean-Up. Come lend a hand, enjoy the fellowship and experience the satisfaction of serving your brothers and sisters in Christ. Please contact Tom Revak for more information.
Contemporary Worship Volunteers Needed
Got 30 minutes on Sunday? The Contemporary Worship Team is looking for a few volunteers to help setup and cleanup after the worship service each Sunday. The duties involve setting up the chairs, preparing the coffee, putting signs up around the church, and then putting things away afterwards. Most of the tasks can be completed in 15-30 minutes and help to make the worship a comfortable and welcoming environment, and it's a simple way to contribute to the worship experience of the FHBC Community. To sign up, visit the board in the Fellowship Hall. Please contact Tom Revak for more information.
The Ushers team is seeking additional smiling faces and warm hearts to greet worshipers and pass out bulletins as they arrive for the 11:00 AM worship service in the Sanctuary. It's a simple, yet very important task as the ushers are the first faces that guests and members see going into the Sanctuary. Those wishing to help can do so on a rotational basis, being at a door by 10:40 AM. Please contact Ms. Eileen Brinkley for more information about helping with the Ushers team.
Visuals Ministry Volunteers Needed
Did you see that?! Yes, visuals are a prime means of communication in today's world, and the Visuals Ministry aids both the Contemporary and Sanctuary worship services with an array of visuals to make the services more engaging to participants. But this team is in need of helpers to provide these visuals. No previous experience required, and training will be provided. Please contact Ms. Janna Edwards for more information about helping with the Visuals Ministry.
Volunteer Needed To Maintain Rose Garden
Volunteers are needed on a regular basis to maintain the rose garden that we all enjoy. Training is avaliable to anyone who is willing to help keep Forest Hills beautiful. Contact Ben for more information.
Tyler Ward and Benny Goetz Ordination
It is with pleasure that we announce the beginning of a review process to determine the readiness of Tyler Ward and Benny Goetz for ordination to ministry. After some discussion, a small team consisting of Ministerial Staff and Deacons has been assembled and our first request to you is to share any affirmations or concerns with Dr. Westbrook (email@example.com or 919.828.6161) regarding the candidacy of Tyler and Benny to this call. Please note that comments shared will be identifiable to candidates as part of an open and fair process. We are excited about the work God is doing at Forest Hills as He leads both Tyler and Benny to this important step in their lives.
A Farewell And Welcome
Please join the Missionary Residence Team in saying goodbye to Eric and Julie Maas and their children, Ciera, Josiah, and Zac, as they move out of our missionary residence on August 29, 2015. The family has enjoyed a summer break from their fieldwork in Belize, Central America, while they've visited family, friends, and supporting churches in North Carolina. Eric, a licensed contractor in our state, left the house in better shape than he found it by installing a new cabinet, sink, and lighting in the first floor bathroom. Thank you very much, Eric!
On August 30, we welcome a new missionary family to the house. Jerry (Jay) and Lori Smoot are apprentice/career missionaries with the International Mission Board. They have served a brief time in both India and South Africa and are now taking a medical leave of absence due to their youngest son's heart condition. The four Smoot children are Roman (who'll turn 9 on September 9), Isabel (age 7), Clara (age 4), and Thelo (age 2). The Smoot family plans to be with us through May 2016.
Bryan & Charlotte Duff welcomed their daughter, Claire Anne, into the world on August 25, 2015. Charlotte is the daughter of Buck & Cindy Goode. Please keep them in your prayers as they grow together as a family!
