Couples of all ages are invited to come together for a weekend of rest and renewal at White Lake from November 4-6. In addition to meaningful seminars and small group experiences, we’ll have opportunities for a variety of recreational activities and even a little friendly competition at our retreat center’s vintage arcade and putt-putt course!
Couples Retreat FAQs
In addition to providing couples with the chance to get away and rest, we'll also be hosting several marriage enrichment sessions which will help couples of all ages to approach their relationships in new, healthy ways.
We'll be staying at Goldston's Beach at White Lake, NC. Located less than 2 hours away from Raleigh, this recently-renovated lakeside resort has been in operation for over 100 years. All couples will have private rooms in the Waterfront Annex, which means you can sit outside your room and be just steps away from the beautiful white sand beaches of White Lake.
This retreat costs $300 per couple. This price includes most meals (Friday dinner, Saturday/Sunday dreakfast), lodging (private rooms for each couple), and other materials. Couples will be responsible for the cost of their own meals for Saturday lunch and dinner. To encourage young adults and parents to attend, we're offering a $100 discount for couples under 40 (*discount applies so long as one spouse is under 40).
Given that this is our first year hosting this retreat, and in order to provide a more meaningful experience for those who attend, we're purposefully keeping the retreat small and capping the number of couples at 15 max. This guarantees that, in addition to learning new skills and practices to enhance your marriage, you'll also be able to build and strengthen your relationships with fellow couples in the church.
White Lake's crystal clear waters provide for a number of exciting recreational opportunities on, and near, the water. A flat walking path around the lake is perfect for early morning walks, runs, and bike rides. On our retreat center's property, there are several restaurants, a retail store, a vintage arcade, putt-putt mini golf, and even a late-night lakefront lounge.
Within 5-10 minutes drive of White Lake are several state parks with hiking trails, an 18-hole golf course, shopping in downtown Elizabethtown, and the Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery. Whether you stay on-site, or venture out, there's plenty to do!
